After a day packed with press interviews and campaigning out on the streets of Lincoln, Nick Griffin, and his lovely wife Jackie, arrived at our local venue. They received a warm, friendly welcome from local members and supporters of our thriving group.
People of all ages and backgrounds enjoying each others company and conversation, happily chatted and got to know one another. Once settled in Local organiser, Rick Foster, expressed his gratitude for the marvellous attendance of just over 130 eager men and women. Embraced in the iconic Hand sewn Union Flag backdrop, kindly donated to us by Richard Carter - thanks Rich! - RO Sadie Graham kicked us of with a fantastic insight into the progress and strength of the group in Lincoln and said she was "delighted with the progress".
Next up was our very own fundholder, Phil Marshall. Who, after a false start, delivered a fantastic short speech about the current state of our finances, and the importance of constantly raising funds, especially at times like this with council seats to win! Nick actually pointed out afterwards that he thinks Phil is a 'natural' when it comes to public speaking.
Well done mate!
We then took a short break during which time we had the raffle. With 14 prizes to be won with everything from a 'leather jacket' to 'monitor' and a crate of 'stella' to a 'wristwatch' it was well worth buying a ticket. The raffle took £137.00.
Once settled back in it was time to hand over to Nick, who gave a superb speech on issues and points that had been raised thru the day. So totally captivated by the enthusiasm that spilled from every word, it was hard to believe that over an hour had passed.
During a brief interval we took a collection to go towards our election fund. By adding the raffle and the collection money together we made a grand total of £525.00 which will now go towards fighting for council seats in Lincoln.
A brief period of Q&A followed with some very good answers from Nick (as expected). But by far I think that most important, of all the days events, is that a further 3 members came forward to stand in the elections bringing our total for the City to 12 and 2 just outside the area.

Good to see more women supporting the party, a sure sign that the BNP are no longer on the fringes of politics.
Of the 130 people i would say that at least 50 were women. We also have 3 women candidates standing in Lincoln City Council elections.
